Given the diversity of the plumbing profession, it's no surprise that plumbing supplies vary significantly. Whilst have-a-go DIY action is not uncommon, it's worth noting how specific a plumbers required components are for fixing gas and water plumbing systems or tackling leaky emergencies.

Fittings your plumber supplies

When called to a job, whether repair or maintenance plumbing, a plumber may supply (or organise supply) of any of the following:

• Sinks, showers, taps, bathtubs & other bathroom fittings
• Heating supplies such as boilers, heating rods, radiators, water heaters, etc.
• Electrical supplies such as wires, switch boards, switches, connectors, etc.

As standard a plumber will also provide all piping and associated fittings. If you're not sure what you need to organise for plumbing installation work, check with your plumber first.
